What about photography?

Photography has always been one of my biggest hobby and I take it quite seriously, I guess.haha..I still remember the days I played with my dad's Nikon FM2 when I was young. It is such a solid DSLR beautifully crafted by Nikon. Dad do teach me about photography ( shutter speed, aperture etc. etc.) ...I start to get serious on it since year 2009 to be precise. So, who is the hooligan who 'poison' me with photography?!!!?!?!He is my 'xifu' Hiyin Tiong. He teaches me a lot about photography. Many thanks to him! I started to develop a huge interest in photography after a photography trip with Hiyin Tiong, E-jinq, JS Phang, Shu Yi and Jo Lyn last summer at alor star airport and Darul Aman lake. I believe Jo Lyn is a victim as well..haha..

Believe me, I sucked at photography before the trip, not much better now anyway..haha..Purchasing a DSLR and high end lenses doesn't mean that you can take beautiful pictures. Since the launch of entry level DSLR, I believe that a lot of people have a wrong perception that DSLR will guarantee beautiful pictures. It will make things even worst if using a DSLR without the knowledge of using it. Learning photography is an endless, but interesting journey.

Currently I am using my brother's Canon IXUS 850 compact camera. The output was stunning compare to other cameras. It is certainly a value for money compact. I am craving for DSLR at the moment as I felt that I have pushed the compact camera to the limit. Currently I am still wondering whether to go for Canon 50D or Nikon D90. I believe I will go for Nikon D90 as it is cheaper compare to 50D (can't afford 50D anyway)..hahhaa.. and the output was superb. The reason why I consider 50D because Canon seems to have a lot of activities compare to Nikon. Does those activities mean a lot to me?No idea at the moment. Regarding pose-processing, I am using Adobe Photoshop CS4. I am keen to give Lightroom and Photomatix a go as well. Heard that Photomatix is really good in HDR processing. Here are so shots during spring and summer 2010. Hope you all will enjoy it!The picture quality is actually quite low to cater for web page loading.

I am not a pro, nor a photographer. I am just a person who appreciate photography.

A taste of summer!

All right! It's summer time and the heat is really screwing me up!Look at the temperature indicator, it's orange in colour!!It's not often to be able to see an orange colour indicator on BBC weather website. To be honest, due to being frozen up and well preserved in the UK for nearly a year, 23 degrees feels like as if I am in Malaysia. The big freezer has turned in a big heater!haha..and check it out.sun sets at 21:07.so it's still very bright at the moment..no longer needs to bring any sweater with me when I hang out. T-shirt and shorts will do just fine! Definitely I take advantage of this warm weather!

I hang around in the city centre on my way back from the university!and the streets was awesome!Lots of people hang out and there are lots performances on the streets!Break dancing and hip hoping with nice music beating all the way on the street definitely caught my attention. Their skills ain't bad at all. There are people playing violin but not very promising. I think my friends are better than him..hahaha..oh yea..by the way I stay in Birmingham, not London but will moved to London for some reasons real soon!Stay tuned!LOL..

Of course of course..did some sports as well. Went to the park near my home for tennis yesterday with my brother. It was a great game. Luckily those bunch of kid bastards didn't come to trouble us yesterday. If not because of UK law, I might hang them up on the tree..went for golf as well today. And the awesome thing in this week, BBQ with my family!!love the chicken wings, sausages and pork slices. Perfect! It's really very warm..and the food..awesome..but my tongue was screwed. I got an ulcer on my tongue which really pissed my off!somehow I manage to relief the pain by applying Bonjela on my tongue very very generously..

Will upload some nice scenery (hopefully) soon I guess..

oh yea..thanks mom and dad and elder sister for the birthday card all the way from Malaysia!Love it!and Happy Birthday Cheng Fung!

Why Blog??WHY??

枫叶

All right!!Here we go!My very first blog...so...why blog??Just to share the experience of studying in overseas, particularly UK with everyone and hopefully...will be able to document some part of my life as a student in UK. Quite a lot of my friends are curious about life in the UK. So, this blog should do some good and portrait not only the 'fun' part of UK which can be seen on TV programmes as always but the 'not so nice' part as well. I know I know!!I've been in UK for ages...and it's almost the end of my degree..One more semester to go and I am done with it...somehow I've just decided to blog right now..haha..and oh yea..please pardon me if you find anything offensive here...hope you all will enjoy it.
